Barre Fitness is a boutique fitness studio focusing on barre workouts. Our classes blend strength training and stretching in a fun, friendly, high energy class that will tighten, sculpt and lengthen your muscles.
Our Barre classes are one hour classes and are an all encompassing full body workout that is core focused and will effectively work your booty (seat), thighs, arms, and flatten your abs by using the ballet barre as the main prop to reinforce ideal positioning of the exercises, while performing small, concentrated movements. The classes are a result of fusing the ideas and philosophies of yoga, Pilates, dance and stretching. With commitment to our classes, you will feel and see the results in record time of a stronger, leaner, and more confident you. We, at Barre Fitness, believe in our clients, and promote camaraderie and personal guidance in every class, giving you the personal training feel in the comforts of a small group setting. (FYI- it is not a dance class- no dance experience or background necessary)
Barre Cardio is a variation of our regular barre classes. We take the regular barre class and add some cardio to get your heart rate elevated. This class stems from the HIIT strategy (High Intensity Interval Training). The cardio spurts provide us with short, intense anaerobic work raising our heart rate, and then allowing us to let the heart rate recover with less intense strength training work for our thighs, booty (seat), and core, thus allowing us to increase our metabolism and fat burning capability. This class is highly effective in achieving rapid results.
Barre Mix is a fusion of all of our classes. Additionally, the weight work for upper body is woven throughout the class while simultaneously performing other multi muscle group, functional exercises (such as squats, lunges, balancing, etc) versus a single block at the beginning or end of class. Abdominal and focused core work is also spread throughout the class. In Barre Mix, small bursts of cardio have been incorporated to add a little extra calorie burn.
The Booty Barre™
Developed by world renowned fitness expert Tracey Mallett, The Booty Barre™class is a unique, fun, high energy class. It fuses legendary fitness techniques from pilates, ballet, calisthenics and yoga. These techniques are designed to streamline, firm, tighten and tone muscles and re-align the body without adding bulk. This helps to create balance, posture, body awareness, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.
Booty Barre works the glutes in all different motions to create the lift and shape most women are craving for. Also, we not only focus on the glutes but also targets the hamstrings to help the appearance of cellulite. Booty Barre consists of exercises mostly standing at the barre so that you’re able to perform balance work with support that will translate into functional strength and allows you to work deeper into those smaller stabilizer muscles such as you abs and inner thighs.
It’s not only important to work the muscles with small tiny movements to isolate a specific muscle but also bigger movements working all the muscles of the glutes and legs synergistically together for balance. Beautiful posture is created by good core awareness and a strong mid and upper back. Booty Barre focuses on correct spinal alignment with extension work that focuses on the all the muscles that extends and strengthens the spine.
An amazingly efficient 30 minute cardio class, using the Tabata training method. The class will be based on Izumi Tabata's high intensity interval training of 20 seconds of exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest. This method of training will improve both aerobic and anaerobic systems, thereby improving your abilities in other fitness realms. Please wear sneakers.
